What Is an Evening Intensive Outpatient Program?

An evening intensive outpatient program is similar to a day IOP in nearly every respect, save for the time of day it occurs. Day IOPs typically meet during the hours of 9 and 5, while evening IOPs are held in the evening. Both types of programs offer participants a chance to receive evidence-based care while also maintaining their everyday responsibilities.

While all IOPs are less intensive than inpatient treatment, evening IOPs may be a good choice for various people, such as:

  • Those who have daytime responsibilities, such as work or school
  • People who need more structure and support than what is available with traditional outpatient care
  • Individuals who have completed inpatient treatment or a partial hospitalization program
  • People who have a milder addiction or mental health disorder
  • Those without mental health concerns

As they would in a traditional IOP, an individual attending our evening intensive outpatient program receives treatment on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Each session may last for three or four hours.

What to Expect from Our Evening IOP in Tampa

At Footprints Beachside Recovery, our evening IOP offers participants a chance to recover in a supportive and structured environment. During evening IOP, participants will take part in a variety of treatment modalities, including:

  • Group therapy
  • Individual therapy
  • Cognitive-behavioral therapy
  • Dialectical behavior therapy
  • Family therapy
  • Outdoor therapy
  • Yoga therapy

Our treatment center is relatively small, which allows us to get to know each individual who comes through our doors. This also allows us to tailor our evening IOP specifically to your needs, ensuring that you’re getting the most out of your treatment.

In addition to therapy, participants in our evening IOP will also have the opportunity to take part in educational sessions. These sessions are designed to help you better understand your addiction or mental health disorder and equip you with the tools you need to maintain your sobriety or mental health for a lifetime.

Finally, our evening IOP also includes an aftercare component. This ensures that you have support even after you’ve completed our program.
